A Space for the Work That Doesn't Belong in the House

A creative practice or a small business outgrows the spare room fast. Paint and clay get on everything, a drum kit or a podcast mic bothers the family, clients do not want to walk through your kitchen, and a rented studio adds a lease and a commute.

A container studio gives you a separate, solid building a few steps from the back door. It arrives as a steel shell, so you decide the rest: insulation, sound-proofing, a window and a door cut in, flooring and lighting. It works as an art, music or yoga studio, or a salon or treatment room.

The walls keep weather out, the doors lock your gear away, and you can move it later if your plans change.

Setting Up Your Container for a Studio

  • Ground and placement: A level gravel pad, concrete blocks or piers keep the floor off damp ground and the doors working. Place it where clients or visitors can reach it easily and you can run power from the house.
  • Road and truck access: Our tilt-bed trucks need a clear path, room to back up and space clear of wires and branches. Tell us about your driveway or yard when you request a quote and we will confirm delivery will work before you order.
  • Insulation and sound: Steel sweats and carries sound. Insulate the walls and ceiling, add a moisture barrier and acoustic panels before you finish the inside, and keep some ventilation so air can move.
  • Doors and windows: The container arrives with doors at one end only. A window or side door is cut in by a welder or container builder, so plan the layout before you order.
  • Power and heat: Have a qualified electrician run power. A small electric heater or mini-split handles most studios.
  • Security: Fit a quality lock on the doors and keep instruments and equipment out of sight from any window.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I use a container studio for?

Anything that needs a quiet, separate room: an art, music or podcast studio, a yoga or training space, or a salon or treatment room. It arrives as a bare steel box that you fit out for the job.

What size container do I need for a studio?

A 20ft container is plenty for a desk, an easel or an instrument, and a small seating area. A 40ft gives room for a larger studio, a waiting area or storage at one end. Tell us what you plan to do and we will help you choose.

Is a container studio soundproof?

Not on its own, but it can be made quiet with the right build. Insulation, acoustic panels and a sealed door help keep sound in, and a builder can advise on the layout for loud instruments.

Do you cut in windows and doors?

The container arrives as a standard steel container with doors at one end. Cutting in windows or a side door is done by a welder or container builder you hire, so plan the layout before you order.

Should I buy a new or used container for a studio?

A new one-trip container has the cleanest walls and floor, which matters if you will paint or leave some of the steel showing. A used cargo-worthy container is a good shell if you will line the inside anyway.

How long does delivery take?

Most deliveries arrive within 1–3 business days of your order, depending on inventory and site conditions. We confirm the timing when you request a quote.
