Tents and Trailers Only Work for a Night

A bar at an event or a venue needs a space built for serving: a counter, a cold fridge, storage for stock and a way to lock up afterwards. Tents and trailers can do it for a night, but they are cramped, weather-dependent and hard to secure, and a permanent building takes longer than a pop-up or a short season allows.

A container bar solves that with one steel box. A 20ft fits a bar top, a back bar, a fridge and room for staff, and a 40ft adds a stock room, seating or a covered service area. A service hatch is cut into the side to serve onto a patio or lawn, and the doors lock everything away when you close.

It can be a permanent feature on your property or a temporary one for the season, and since it is a self-contained steel unit, a truck can move it to a new site if your plans change.

Setting Up Your Container for a Bar

  • Ground and placement: Set it on a level pad or beside a deck or patio, with the serving side facing where guests will gather.
  • Serving opening: A side hatch is cut in by a welder or container builder, and the opening is framed to restore strength. Plan its position and size early.
  • Road and truck access: Our tilt-bed trucks need a clear path, room to back up and space clear of wires and branches. Tell us about your site when you request a quote and we will confirm delivery will work before you order.
  • Power and plumbing: Fridges, kegs and lighting need dedicated circuits from a qualified electrician. Water and drainage, if you want a sink, are done by a plumber.
  • Ventilation and climate: Insulate, add vents or a fan, and a heater or mini-split if you will use it in cold or hot weather. Refrigeration adds heat, so leave air space around it.
  • Locking: Fit a quality lock and keep stock and equipment inside when it is closed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you really run a bar from a shipping container?

Yes. A 20ft container holds a bar top, a fridge, a back bar and room for staff, and a 40ft gives you room for a stock room or seating. It arrives as a bare steel box that you or a builder fit out.

What size container do I need for a container bar?

A 20ft container suits a bar for events and a small venue. Choose a 40ft if you want a stock room, a seating area or a larger crew. Tell us how you plan to use it and we will help you choose.

Can a serving window or hatch be added?

Yes, but it is cut in by a welder or container builder you hire, and the opening is framed to keep the wall strong. Plan its size and position before you order.

Can a container bar be moved between events or sites?

A container is a self-contained steel unit that a truck can load and move, so a bar can travel between events or sites. Plan access at both ends and tell us if you expect to move it.

Should I buy a new or used container for a bar?

A new one-trip container has the cleanest walls and floor, which helps if some steel will show. A used cargo-worthy container is a good shell if you will clad the inside and outside.

How long does delivery take?

Most deliveries arrive within 1–3 business days of your order, depending on inventory and site conditions. We confirm the timing when you request a quote.
