Space Is Never Where the Demand Is

A logistics or storage business runs on space, and space is rarely where the demand is. Peaks leave stock, pallets and customer goods piled in aisles or loading areas, a warehouse lease is a long commitment for a short surge, and a rented trailer is awkward to leave parked for months.

Moving companies have a version of the same problem. Crews need somewhere to hold customer goods between jobs, to stage crates and equipment at the depot, and to lock up gear overnight in a yard with no building.

Steel containers add secure space in days, not months. They sit on a level pad, lock individually, can be arranged in rows or around a loading area, and can be moved or resold as the business changes. A 40ft high cube is the usual choice for pallets and bulk goods, and a 20ft suits smaller loads and equipment.

Setting Up Your Container for Logistics & Storage

  • Ground and placement: Set containers on a level gravel or concrete pad with drainage away from them, so doors work and pallet jacks roll in easily.
  • Layout and access: Leave room between rows for trucks and forklifts, and face the doors toward the lane so every unit can be reached.
  • Truck access: Our tilt-bed trucks need a clear approach, firm ground and room to back up. Tell us about your yard, gates and how many containers you need when you request a quote and we will confirm delivery will work before you order.
  • Racking and loading: Pallet racking, ramps and dock plates make loading faster. Container floors are plywood over steel and take pallet jacks well.
  • Security: Lock each unit individually, light the yard, and consider cameras for customer goods.
  • Ventilation and moisture: Add vents, keep goods off the floor and use moisture absorbers for sensitive stock.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can containers work as overflow storage for a logistics business?

Yes. Containers are lockable, weatherproof and can be added in days. They suit pallets, parts, packaging and customer goods, and they can be moved or resold when your needs change.

What size container works best for pallets?

A 40ft high cube is the usual choice for pallets and bulk goods because it gives the most volume and headroom for racking. A 20ft suits smaller loads and equipment and is easier to place in a tight yard. Tell us what you plan to store and we will help you choose.

Can we order several containers at once?

Yes. Tell us how many you need and where they will go, and we will confirm whether delivery will work for the whole group.

Can they be moved if our needs change?

A container is a self-contained steel unit that a truck can load and move, so you can relocate or resell it as your operation changes. Plan access at both ends and tell us if you expect to move it.

Can a moving company use containers for storage at the depot?

Yes. They work as lockable storage for customer goods, crates and equipment. If you are moving your own home, see our moving container service.

How long does delivery take?

Most deliveries arrive within 1–3 business days of your order, depending on inventory and site conditions. We confirm the timing when you request a quote.
