Yes. Container floors are plywood over steel cross-members and take heavy loads. Lay rubber mats or gym flooring on top to protect the floor and cut noise, and use a platform under heavy lifts.
Only if you leave it bare. Insulation, vents, a fan and a mini-split or heater make a container comfortable all year. Plan these before you finish the inside.
For most gyms a used cargo-worthy container is the best value, since you will be lining and flooring the inside anyway. Choose a new one-trip container if you want the cleanest finish.
